About us

What is Endura furniture?

Endura is a comprehensive collection of robust contract furniture designed to withstand the demands of more challenging environments.

With the understanding that different environments require different levels of durability and robustness, security features and aesthetic appeal, the spectrum of Endura products can be configured to meet a multitude of settings. Indeed should the standard range of products not meet aesthetic or functional needs then within reason the Endura team are happy to design and manufacture products to bespoke requirements.

The Endura collection incorporates three core product ranges, ModuForm, HiForm and SoftForm that have been categorised into three classifications according to the type and severity of environment in which the products can be used - Red, Amber and Green zones.

Moduform Range

Moduform is an exceptionally tough range of furniture predominantly designed for critical environments where there is exceptionally high traffic and/or high abuse, where durability, security and safety are key.

HiForm
is a “home-style” collection of lounge and dining furniture that is robust enough for those challenging environments yet has a certain style and elegance to create comfortable and relaxing areas.

Softform consists of durable foam-based products such as beds, bespoke floor and wall padding as well as a range of “soft” seating for those areas that need a little extra protection.

Endura´s solid, distinctive furniture is appropriate for a wide range of communal and private environments, whether it is a busy waiting or reception area, a dayroom or lounge setting or the demands of a more challenging and high usage environments.

Choosing the right furniture

Deciding on the type and style of furniture is not always an easy process and if there is the necessity to look for different levels of durability within your contract furniture selection then this can add to the myriad of products in the marketplace.

At Endura, however we have tried not only to categorise our products into three core ranges, ModuForm, HiForm, SoftForm but also into three classifications according to the type and severity of environment in which the products can be used - Red, Amber and Green zones. In addition, consideration should always be given to the type and strength of fabric covering used on the furniture.

Red Zone: Furniture in this zone can be categorised as being suitable for extreme, high abuse areas and critical environments where standard reinforced, upholstered furniture would be destroyed. Red zone furniture surpasses all other contract furniture in its construction particularly where the unique rotomolded vinyl covering that is close to 10 times thicker than ordinary vinyl is used which is able to resist punctures and tears, is non-absorbent, easy to clean and resistant to harsh cleaners.

Red Zone Furniture examples: ModuForm 520 Series; ModuForm 700 Series Chairs; 810 and 820 Series Communal Seating and ModuForm 950 Series Casegoods; Steel Beam seating; Metal-framed suites

Amber Zone: Furniture in the zone can be categorised as being suitable for severe contract and high abuse areas dependent on the fabric covering. Some of the furniture frames in this zone are made of a solid wood construction or have reinforced joints such as the Imperial Tub Chair.

Amber Zone Furniture examples: Upholstered suites and dining furniture; SoftForm Loungers and Elan Bags; mattresses; Imperial Tub Chair; wall and floor padding.

Green Zone: Furniture in this zone should only be used in areas where general everyday traffic is evident. Items that are within the Green zone are stronger than domestic furniture, some products have reinforced frames or are manufactured from hardwood or laminated timber. This group of furniture would be suitable for areas of moderate abuse.

Green Zone Furniture examples: Java, Bramcote and the Lewis ranges are ideal for reception and dayroom furniture; Cottesmore; Augusta and Beeston are suitable for relaxing lounge areas.

Endura furniture complies with fire retardancy regulations for upholstered furniture intended for use in certain hazardous environments. Consideration of these regulations are essential when purchasing furniture and in turn peace of mind can be assured that Endura furniture meets BS5857 Flame Retardancy, Ignition Source 0,1,5 and in some instances source 7 depending on the type of fabric selected.

What is robust furniture?

Robust furniture is exactly as described!

Designed expressly for those environments that place extra demands on equipment items. Such demands may be the significant volume of traffic and use that occurs in a particular setting, for example, a busy reception area or alternatively furniture is put into testing and exacting settings where domestic and mass produced items would be easily destroyed by careless treatment and sometimes wanton abuse.

Robust furniture not only reduces overall furniture purchasing costs in the long term due to the extended life expectancy and performance of such goods but aims to provide a certain peace of mind that the furniture is solid, robust, durable and fit for its purpose contributing to the security and safety of such environments. Robust furniture also contributes to Endura's commitment to the environment, longer-lasting furniture means less waste entering already crowded land-fill sites.

Robust furniture marries the necessity of solid, robust, durability with the essential need to create welcoming and comfortable environments that are built to last.

Where are these demanding environments?

There are a variety of settings and environments where such furniture would be suitably placed, for example

  • High traffic environments such as reception areas and waiting rooms
  • Secure, challenging behaviour, psychiatric areas and other critical environments
  • Rehabilitation and respite care units
  • Residential and day care for children and adults with learning disabilities
  • Areas of heavy use or abuse to furniture or self-harm by individuals
  • Dayrooms, common areas, dining and lounge facilities
  • Suitable for quiet, time-out rooms, seclusion rooms and de-escalation programmes
  • Special schools for autism or behavioural problems
